Peaches Finds Her Way

Peaches, a tiny and self-doubting pug, wonders if she’ll ever be good at anything—especially compared to her calm, capable friend Broma, a tall Australian Labradoodle training to be a therapy dog. But with encouragement from their handler, Ms. Kristin, Peaches joins Broma on their first visit to Sunnydale Elementary School.

The busy school environment overwhelms Peaches at first, until she notices Jimmy, a boy quietly struggling outside his classroom. Peaches curls up in his lap, bringing him comfort and sparking his first smile in days. As the weeks pass, Broma supports groups of readers while Peaches gravitates toward children who feel worried or alone, discovering she has a talent for soothing hearts.

Peaches’ confidence falters when she overhears kids questioning her usefulness—until Jimmy freezes during a class presentation. Peaches bravely waddles to his side, giving him the courage to speak. His success proves that even the smallest dog can make a big difference.

Recognizing their impact, Principal Booth awards Peaches and Broma official “School Therapy Dog” tags for their vests. Peaches proudly walks the halls knowing she may not be the biggest or the fastest, but her heart is exactly what the school needs.
